Runway is evolving and James Cameron and Snoop Dogg fully embrace AI
During our live audio session this week, we spoke with Nik Kleverov, the creative director of Native Foreign, the first agency to create a commercial Gen AI project using Sora.
This week, we spoke with Nik Kleverov, the first person to complete a commercial project using Sora. As the Chief Creative Officer of Native Foreign, his agency created a Toys "R" Us commercial using OpenAI's video model, Sora. He discussed the tool's current limitations but emphasised that, despite its restricted availability and lack of a public release date, Sora is still the most powerful tool on the market in his opinion.

Runway introduces portrait mode for it’s gen 3 Turbo model
Up until this week, we were limited to providing only 16:9 aspect ratio input (1280x768px) in Runway. Finally, they've introduced its counterpart, 9:16, giving us a portrait input option. However, the tool is still quite restricted, with only two aspect ratio options, which remains challenging. We've been waiting for any portrait option since the Gen 3 alpha first launched, so this is a welcome update.
With most social media content requiring portrait formats, this new feature opens up a lot more creative possibilities for working within social platforms using the Runway workflow.
Runway partners with Lionsgate Entertainment
Runway and Lionsgate have formed a groundbreaking partnership that could significantly impact the future of content creation. The collaboration involves developing a custom AI model tailored to Lionsgate’s vast library of films and TV shows.
This AI tool is designed to assist filmmakers by generating cinematic videos that can be iterated using Runway's suite of tools, allowing for more efficient and creative workflows in both pre-production and post-production processes. For marketers, this partnership could usher in a new era of capital-efficient content creation, enabling brands to leverage AI-driven cinematic storytelling at a scale and speed previously unimaginable.
Kling 1.5 + motion brush are showing great results
Kling AI has introduced the Motion Brush feature as part of its latest version 1.5 release, which significantly enhances video creation by allowing users to precisely control the movement of specific elements in images. This tool enables creators to define motion paths for up to six objects or characters, offering unprecedented flexibility in animating still images.
By combining motion with the ability to lock static areas, users can create intricate, dynamic scenes while maintaining focus on key elements. This new level of control opens doors for more immersive content in marketing, especially for visually captivating campaigns like product launches or app promotions.
With Kling AI’s 1080p HD video generation and improved prompt handling, marketers now have the ability to produce cinema-grade, highly engaging content, perfect for standing out on platforms where visual storytelling is crucial.

Battalion | Groundbreaking AI Short Film
Dave Clark has just released Battalion, his first-ever 5-minute short film created entirely with Generative AI. Using 100% image-to-video and text-to-video AI tools, Dave spent weeks bringing this project to life. The tools evolved daily during production, resulting in impressive, cutting-edge visuals.
The film tells the story of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, the only all-African American unit to storm the beaches on D-Day, providing critical protection from enemy aircraft.
